Security Screens

Features:

Screens vs. Security Bars
Most windows today come double hung with a full screen, which allows fresh air into the room, or a full sunscreen, which minimizes the damaging rays of the sun.

TAPCO Security Screens are mounted directly to the window and thus appears that it belongs there. Security Bars, on the other hand, look just like security bars... out of place. Security screens also protect the whole window from vandals, burglars and flying debris. Security Bars do not protect the glass nor window, thus creating maintenance cost to the home owner.

Options and Extras:

TAPCO offers a variety of stainless steel wire...

The .012 Ga 30 x 30 Mesh
  • .012 is the thickness of the wire. (a little less than 1/64th of an inch.)
  • A very fine wire that is mostly used in the filter business.
  • 30 x 30 mesh means that for every square inch you have 30 strands running horizontal and 30 strands running vertical again this is used mostly in the filter business.
  • We do not advise having this wire painted.

The .018 Ga 16 x 16 Mesh
  • The wire thickness of this product is a little shy of insect screen found in most homes.
  • 16 x 16 means 16 strands horizontal and 16 strands vertical per square inch.
  • Wire can be painted if one doesn't mind the wire being a little wavy - by nature this wire is wavy anyway.

The .023 Ga 12 x 12 Mesh
  • The wire thickness of this product is between 1/64th and 1/32nd of an inch.
  • This wire offers a little more strength.
  • Can easily be painted.

The .028 Ga 12 x 12 Mesh
  • The most commonly used wire in the security screen industry.
  • The wire is very strong and can easily withstand even an ax being used on it. We are not saying an ax will not rip it but once the wire is hit directly it does not create a hole big enough for a person to climb through. "We Tried It".
  • Can easily be painted.

The .035 Ga 12 x 12 Mesh
  • This wire is used in hurricane screens.
  • Passed the Rigid Impact test that Florida code demands and passed hands down.
  • Can easily be painted.

The .018, .023, .028 and .035 comes in a natural color or can be powder coated black, bronze or white.

What Other's Have to Say About Us...
"We broke our window while fixing a door and all we had to do was get the measurements over the phone to you, and the replacement pane was ready the next day. Such turnaround made it easy, so we didn't have to miss work for a full day. Thanks for such a quick response and accurate job! I would definitely call you again in the future!"
